i could tell when i have friends who couldn't find a job since last June..

when a few friend's whose company had freeze head count which include mine..

friends who tried so hard to get themselves a job yet seems damn difficult to even land an interview!!

shouldn't we, who are still employed to feel contended that we still have a job? and able to seure our rice bowl??

right now, i believe every boss would try to find excuses to 'axe' you.. they will only see the bad side of you.. and never the good side..

This March, the Supreme Court of Singapore will be opening its doors to visitors over the weekend in an event named ‘The Living Courthouse’. Over the weekend of 14 - 15 March 2009, enactments of court hearings, interactive activities and exhibitions will bring the work and operations of the Supreme Court to life so visitors can participate, have fun, experience its proceedings and have their 'day in court' actually being involved in a court proceeding.

'The Living Courthouse' will focus primarily on demystifying the work of the Supreme Court, educate the public about the current operations of the courts, and how aspects of our work may impact them. Some highlights of the event include enactments of civil and criminal proceedings, exploratory tours around the building, legal talks (in partnership with the Subordinate Courts, SAL, IPTO, LAB and ACRA) as well as legal clinics (in partnership with the Law Society of Singapore). Visitors to 'The Living Courthouse' can also learn more about Singapore 's legal system through learning activities such as the 'Justice Trail' as well as view exhibitions showcasing common stereotypes about the courts and the law and our legal heritage. The programme lineup for the event promises to be fun-filled and informative, with activities suited for all ages.

wow!! didn't know such 铁公鸡 could happen in our sunny island..

come to think of it, i really wonder if we could really do it?? i mean since we always see people 'chope' seats with tissues, keys, etc..

isn't this the same as what we're doing?? only difference here is, it is human 'chopeping' parking lots in carpark.. haha..

STOMPer Sadpanda wanted to reverse into an available lot at VivoCity's carpark, but was stunned to find a woman standing in the middle of it.

He signalled to tell her he was reversing, but was shocked to be told that the lot was reserved for her husband.

Jo! hn tells STOMP: "Yesterday (Dec 14), I arrived at the VivoCity's carpark just before 7pm and found a nice lot near the lift lobby. I wanted to reverse in but there was this woman standing in the lot."

"She appeared to be texting someone on her phone so I signalled my intention to reverse into the lot and even lowered my window to let her know I was coming in."

"She told me to park elsewhere as she was 'chope-ing' the lot for her husband who was on his way."

Dumbfounded, I told her, "You can't do that".

"First come first serve. She told me off and said she can. "

Her justification to me was that, "If I can chope seat in a foodcourt with a tissue packet, I can chope a parking lot."

Moments later, her husband finally arrived in his blue Suzuki swift.

As I was in a half-parked position since his wife was standing in the lot, he stopped in the middle of the driveway, came out of the car, took stock of the situation and waved me along, asking me to find another lot since his wife came first.

I said "No way! How can anyone do this? And get away with it?" To which he even dared to say, "Surely you have seen people do this before?"

I told him that they were being unreasonable. He denied being so and said instead that I was the one being unreasonable. He accused ME of being "kiasu" and should instead go look for another lot. We argued for a few minutes, passers-by came and went and eventually cars started to pile up behind and were honking.

Cursing my own damn luck to meet this couple, I swallowed my pride and moved off so as not to obstruct traffic. I did find a lot after I moved off and gladly parked in it.

As I walked to the lobby, I caught sight of the couple and went towards them, demanding an apology. They shoo-ed me off and warned me of harassing them, even threatening to call the police. I told them they epitomised the true blue ugly Singaporean to which he answered, "Sorry to disappoint you but I'm not Singaporean".

Obviously a crowd of curious shoppers took notice. He showed me the middle finger and shouted vulgarities at me.

"How can people get away with such thing? Have we lost total decency and decorum?" Do you think it is all right for people to reserve lots this way?"

Recently this past week, my cousin Nicole Dishuk (age 31...newly graduated student with a doctoral degree about to start her new career as a Doctor...) was flown into a nearby hospital, because she passed out.

They found a blood clot in her neck, and immediately took her by helicopter to the ER to operate. By the time they removed the right half of her skull to relieve the pressure on her brain; the clot had spread to her brain causing severe damage.

Since last Wednesday night, she was battling... they induced her into a coma to stop the blood flow, they operated 3 times... Finally, they said there was nothing left that they could do... they found multiple clots in the left side of her brain... the swelling wouldn't stop, and she was on life support...

She died at 4:30 yesterday. She leaves behind a husband, a 2yr old Brandon and a 4yr old Justin... The CAUSE of DEATH - they found was a birth control she was taking that allows you to only have your period 3 times a year... They said it interrupts life's menstrual cycle, and although it is FDA approved.... shouldn't be - So to the women in my address book - I ask you to boycott this product & deal with your period once a month - so you can live the rest of the months that your life has in store for you.

*Please send this to every woman you know - you may save someone's life... Remember, you have a CYCLE for a reason!

don't know if being kind is wrong or selfish is right in this instance..

lend my car to a colleague of mine (sensitive issue, so no names mentioned) which he had borrowed a few times already.. there wasn't any issue, until yesterday..

he borrowed my car again (claimed he go bank).. while he was supposed to come back office, he called and said he can't engage the handbrake.. i told him to press the button, pull slightly upwards and put it down..

after a while, he reached office.. nothing mentioned so i thought the car it's fine.. then came my turn to drive.. i couldn't engage the handbrake too!! was fidgeting with it and even had to get my other colleagues to help but failed..

bo bian.. so today i made a call to Toyota (i'm driving a vios) to 'check' what happen..

BUT i wasn't the least happy at all..

while i was waiting for the tow truck to arrive, this colleague of mine still got the cheek to ask if i could lend him the car again!! ya, so what you offered to drive to the service centre?? hello!! the handbrake is already loosen (i.e. the car could actually move even with the handbrake engaged).. you still want to drive even though you know my car got problem???

now, what or where's the logic?? at first i still feel alright.. however, right after he asked, i told myself NO more next time.. (of coz', few of 'kind' colleagues did mentioned next time don't anyhow borrowed car to people already)

after some verification and diagnosis, Toyota changed some parts of the handbrake.. and more lucky is, it's free (they wanted to charge $100 initially) this time.. ;D

my helpful colleague said: it's difficult to judge when it comes to responsibility issues.. who's to blame?? charge or don't charge??

another kind colleague said: it's not like i lend you my PSP; you spoilt it; just replaced and that's it.. this is a car we're talking about.. it's not that easy..

lesson learnt!!

... the curious case of benjamin button ..

i managed to catch this show 'the curious case of benjamin button'.. touching show indeed.. though it's a 166mins (2hrs 45mins) show but it sure had the loving feelings of a love story behind.. (heard andy lau acted in a similar movie too)

by the time the show finished, it's already pass midnight as we caught the 2145 show.. took a cab home as my car broke down.. :'( more details coming up ~ stay tuned!)

it's a story of a man and a woman (as usual) who met, fell in love and then left each other in the opposite directions.. well, benjamin was born old.. real scary as he had the skin of an 80 years old, old man.. old people problems that was attached to it too..

afterwhich, he met this girl called daisy.. they fell in love later on.. however, they are not on the same track.. she's getting old each day while benjamin is getting younger instead.. they crossed their path half way between their lives.. they had a baby girl, dorothy.. later on, benjamin passed away as a baby while daisy died in the hospital after dorothy finished reading the sad love story to her mum..

i was almost in tears when bejamin said "she needs a father, not a playmate".. he never had the chance to see dorothy grow up..

you should not missed this if you haven't watch! :P

he always been a brotherly figure to me.. has no temper, goody good guy.. never occurred to me that one day he will stop the "i now pronounce you husband and wife" thing..

特別喜歡這段∶ 舊愛還是最美 美的東西往往太早枯萎 後悔時的淚水 又特別讓人覺得無力疲憊 舊愛還是最美 有時分手不是誰負了誰 兩個對的人 卻在錯的時候愛了一囘。

歌頌著舊情人的好。也許吧！需要經歷幾段慘痛失敗的愛情戰役才能領悟的吧！曾經我以爲做個“好馬不吃回頭草”是我給那些失敗戀情某個程度上的交待。近年發現不以爲然了。

我曾度過心如刀割、哭笑不得的日子。人老了，也發現不該對自己的身體過不去。於是就蹋開心胸、放開胸懷的接受愛情失敗的滋味；從中也領悟了一些道理。

這似曾相識的感覺又再次湧上心頭了。這幾個月讓我覺得不該爲了追逐短暫的快樂而放棄會開花結果的可能。結果，我傷了好重、好重∶ 皮開肉綻、痛不欲生。

這失足變成了我的千古恨。我就像犯錯的小孩，渴望做錯事後能得到諒解。但諒解是那麽的輕而以擧的嗎？我還能做什麼，是否還能重新接納我的愚蠢？
