my assignment is due 30 Sep 09 next month.. i only left about 1 month to complete an 3000 words essay.. topic look easy but realized it's not that easy at all..

right this moment writing this, i'm with my friend here at tea garden.. yes, at this wee hours.. you'll be surprised how busy and lively macdonald is right now..

everyone is still wide awake.. *ya, else we would all call ghost* so are we.. soccer just ended a while ago with Man-U winning.. people coming for supper or here with their laptop doing their own stuffs.. :P

both of us are skiving than serious studying!! :D she's supposed to be study for next week exam (she got 4 papers mind you!!) on the opposite, she just finished watching south park, some online recipes.. me worse.. supposed to be writing my assignment, yet i'm trying so hard to update my blog instead.. hahaha!!

can someone give us a knock on our head?? we are slowly losing our concentration already.. oh god, please help!!

P/S: the stupid wireless @ SG keep disconnecting me... i got to re-login umpteen times tonight!!

最近，爲了一些敏感事而需要勞駕幾位朋友的拔刀相助。結果，如我預料中的一樣，他們都拒絕了我的請求。我不怪他們因爲有幾位是泛泛知交。

在這節骨眼找人兩肋插刀確實有點彆扭。但令我覺得失望又有點憤怒的是，沒辦法就直接拒絕我；我不會怪你。拒絕我有多難？就說一個不而已嘛！

別給假希望然后又帶我環游世界。繞了一圈才說愛莫能助；浪費我一天的時間。假如我真的靠你的‘施捨’那我豈不是已經死失掉了？？

經過這次，覺得靠人不如靠自己。

... cycling trip ...

my company's sports and social committee organized a cycling trip to johor state, pangareng. it's a day trip so all of us are back at about evening 6pm.

the day started as early as 7am.. however i woke up at about 0530hrs.. took a bus to changi village for gathering..

after everyone reaches, we were divided into 3 bump boats at changi ferry terminal.. off we go!! pangareng here we come!! it's about an hour boat ride.. *phew* i didn't puke at all!! i was so worried i would..

after we reached the pangareng jetty, we proceed to collect our bike over at this place call tristan park, took a group photo and started our cycling expedition.. the weather was fantastic..

after an hour or so cycling, all of us reached the jade restaurant for our seafood feast.. we had lobster, chili and black pepper crabs, prawns to name a few.. *mouth drooling* i didn't eat much as i'm not a seafood lover.. :D

after the feast, it was free and easy time.. however, sky was pouring heavily!! it lasted about 30mins before it was back to sunny afternoon.. some of my colleagues went for hair cut/wash.. some of them went pangareng 'road trip' while me and few of my colleagues visited the ostrich farm..

the trip was fruitful.. managed to grab some honey mangoes and preserved ones.. however, my butt is so painful after the ride.. worse compared to roller blading!

i will definitely visit this place some day again!!

... few incidents ...

1. birthday wish

it's my best friend's mel 34th birthday!!

oppps.. shouldn't have disclosed his age.. anyway, wish him a great day ahead and all the best to his future..

2. appraisal review

i didn't realized there is a review session on our appraisal system.. when my superior said she wanted to talk to me i thought i did something wrong.. or someone complained about me again..

*heart beating ultra fast* when she asked me to sit down with the performance appraisal sheet in front of her, then i realized it was my review time! haha! *phew ~ a sigh of relief*

well, i shall not elborate my overall performance.. overall is good!! :P

... school re-opens ...

after a long break.. yes, about 2 months long.. :D

we are finally back to class.. also marked entry into my second year.. this also means i got to study extra hard as 35% of our second year and 65% of our third year justify our honours standing..

and i got to score at least an average b grades in order to get a second upper honours!! wah, sound like a mission impossible to me.. anyway, i try ok?? :D

first day of class, received some bad news too.. or should i say disappointing news? 2 of my classmates has decided not to continue the course..

one of them is our class rep, who had applied for LOA (leave of absence).. another one is my dear carol who had decided to 'venture' elsewhere.. start later than us but yet graduating earlier!

haiz, we had completed 1 year liao.. might as well finished it right? anyway, hope both of them made the right decision and all the best!

Please be careful when you received $50 notes from anyone. Please read on.... Please also let your friends know.

MAS: Notes with 'KF' marking have no value. The Money Authority of Singapore (MAS) says the $50 notes with the letters 'KF' marked on them are considered to be deliberately mutilated and they command no value. This reply came in response to a feedback from Lee, who said he withdrew several $50 notes from OCBC Compass Point, of which three had the letters 'KF' printed on them. When he consulted the bank about the notes, he was told that there was no problem with the notes.

However, MAS says the letters 'KF', which appear to be marking stamped onto the note, are not part of the design of the $50 note. It advises the public who receive the notes with the 'KF' marking to bring them back to the banks for one-for-one exchange.

This is the reply from the MAS in full: 'The letters 'KF', which appear to be marking stamped onto the note, are not part of the design of the $50 note. 'Notes with such marking are considered to be deliberate mutilation and they command no value. 'We advise members of public who receive notes with the 'KF' marking to bring them to the banks for one-for-one exchange.'

so fast the long weekend for august is going to be over soon.. anyway, realized from august onwards, every month there will be 1 long weekend till december.. *clap hands in the air*

shall plan something to do huh? september i'm going cameron highlands with my sis, so that is settled.. october which is deepavali what shall i do then?? *building castles in the air*

anyway, not to waste the last day of the long weekend yesterday; i went out movie with my gal friend, kat and her 2 nieces.. we watched the new movie UP by pixar Studio.. nice show i must say..

however, she cannot make it lor.. was crying over an animation.. haiyo!! even her nieces also make fun of her.. haha..

after we send her nieces home, *fast forward* (return to her house to fix her TV, while waiting for xiaodi to get ready, surf net/facebook, watch south park to kill time) we meet up with my xiaodi aka pat for cheap chicken rice buffet at NUSS.. however we were told that the place is not open to public and it's only restricted to NUSS members only.. however, the manager still let us have our dinner there.. maybe he seen us go all the way there and didn't want to reject us ba..

after dinner, we proceed to west coast mac for a drink.. (free parking mah.. hee..) while i offered to buy drink, both kat n pat threw me a little surprise..

a mini black forest cake with candle was waiting for me! i was kind of touched when i saw the cake.. 有心了！even though i never celebrated my birthday with friends for so many years already.. thanks for being with me at that time..

and to all my wonderful friends and colleagues who smsed me your well wishes!! thanks a million!! :D

supposed to meet up with carol yesterday but she was in a foul mood so we met up today after her hair cut instead..

as usual, she will always update me about her whereabouts and recent happenings.. she's really like my lesbian partner already.. haha.. don't get me wrong! me neither bi-sexual nor lesbian hor.. it's just a casual remark.. :) not at this juncture i need to turn myself into such confusion phrase..

anyway, her sis was telling her about this cheap and good restaurant called aston's specialities at the cathay.. so we decided to try..

queue is damn long.. accordingly to her, there's always queue any day any time (except maybe 3-4pm) we waited almost an hour before we got our seats..

wow! the food is good and service is great.. realized that they have more than 1 outlet actually.. shall check it out their other outlets next time!

1. Duped by credit card scam upon check in at Hotel

You arrive at your hotel and check in at the front desk. When checking in, you give the front desk your credit card (for all the charges for your room). You get to your room and settle in. Someone calls the front desk and asked for (example) Room 620 (which happens to be your room).

Your phone rings in your room. You answer and the person on the other end says the following, 'This is the front desk. When checking in, we came across a problem with your charge card information. Please re-read me your credit card number and verify the last 3 digits numbers at the reverse side of your charge card.'

Not thinking anything you might give this person your information, since the call seems to come from the front desk. But actually, it is a scam of someone calling from outside the hotel/front desk. They ask for a random room number. Then, ask you for credit card information and address information. Sounding so professional that you do think you are talking to the front desk.

If you ever encounter this problem on your vacation, tell the caller that you will be down at the front desk to clear up any problems. Then, go to the front desk and ask if there was a problem. If there was none, inform the manager of the hotel that someone called to scam you of your credit card information acting like a front desk employee.

2. Bangkok International Airport

Folks, be warned and be really careful, check the items you bought and give back what does not belong to you even when the shop assistants claimed it's 'free'. I believe the duty free shop assistants would also get a share.......so, be very, very careful. Read below:

My Dept. secretary informed on this. Her cousin was detained in Bangkok for stealing a box of cigarettes in a duty-free shop in Bangkok International Airport.

He had paid for chocolates and a carton of cigarettes. The cashier put a packet of smokes into his bag and he thought it was a free pack.

He was arrested for shop-lifting and the Thai Police extortion price was RM30,000 for his release. He spent two nights in jail and paid RM50 for an air-con cell, 200-300 baht for each visitor, and RM11,000 for his final release.

The Police shared the money in front of his eyes. On top of that, he was charged in court and fined RM2,000 by the magistrate and handcuffed and escorted to his plane.

His passport was stamped "Thief". While there, his relatives requested help from the Malaysian Embassy and was told that they are helpless, as Malaysians are victimised similarly daily and letters and phone-calls to the Thai Authorities are ignored.

He shared a cell with a Singaporean the 1st night who paid RM60,000 for his release. The 2nd night was an Indian national who paid USD70,000.

Mind you this is not in a shag downtown Bangkok but in a duty free shop in Bangkok's Int'l Airport.

3. Driving to JB

If you get RM10.00 in your car door handle, use tissue paper or cloth to remove it without opening it and if possible bag it. Drive away immediately.

Don't check the note until you are in the company of your friends or relatives. The note could either contain powdered drugs to knock you out or make you wonder if some guilty motorist compensating you for a knock or scratch on your car, while you are still wondering, the robber(s) will attack you as you check the car.

This had happened in Johor. Please circulate to your friends and warn them!

after the last movie, harry potter, i didn't watched any show till tonight.. kat called me and wanted to watch her idol, johhny depp before the show is going to end.. understand from her it's a true story about the 1930's FBI, so thought no harm and watched it together with her..

overall i would say it's much better than harry.. haha.. though they could make it better as i felt some parts were skipped/censored?? and johnny depp look so different in this show compared to pirates! i couldn't recognize him at all!

wish i could have a man like john dillinger.. haha.. he sure is one great gangster yet devoted to his woman.. kind of sad that he died that manner; unexpectedly.. anyway yeah, i do love gangsters! :D

... event at hyatt hotel ...

another company event.. this time it's a farewell dinner for my current VP who's been promoted and leaving asia.. the event was at hyatt hotel, straits kitchen tonight..

oh boy! the spread was fantastic and full of varieties.. something you must definitely try!! the chicken rice, mini 佛跳墙 etc.. everything is good there!!

a bit expensive for some maybe.. per person is S$42++ and they serve local delight and plus additional S$12++ you get free flow of coffee, tea (even tek tarih) and soft drinks..

it's definitely worth it!
